KeyCut for walls includes wall members that are cut to the exact length needed, then marked so that no additional layout work needs to be performed.
KeyCut wall members include:
| Top and Bottom Plates |
|
Top and bottom plates are marked with the location of every vertical member in the wall. Member call outs include locations of studs, posts, king studs, trimmers, cripples, and corner and partition framing.
Information about each door or window is printed on each plate including header material, header length and lengths of trimmers and cripples.
Wall names are printed on each plate so plates can be laid out on the deck prior to assembly.
Plates are cut to the exact length needed, are tacked together, then shipped to the job site with a layout showing the location of each wall.

Header members are cut to exact lengths and marked with the wall that they are to be placed in.
Multi-ply headers are assembled and nailed together.

| Sill Plates |
|
Sill plates are cut to exact lengths and marked with the wall that they are to be placed in.
Locations of lower cripples are marked on the sill plate.

| "Very" Top Plates |
|
The second top plate (or "Very" Top Plate, as we call it) can also be cut to exact length and labelled. The location of overlying members, either the floor or roof system above the wall, can be marked onto the plates. |
